I was having a hard time adjusting the the "local" gym here in Brown Summit so I went back to what I know. I rejoined at Gold's Gym on Tuesday. I meet with my trainer Martinez and he/we have a plan. Today I execute the plan by showing up at Golds at 6:00 am and doing a cardio workout. I have to get my cardio up because we start training on May 19th. That means for until the 19th my primary workouts will be cardio.
Hope all is well

H1N1
I have found the recent topic of Swine Flu H1N1 very interesting. I heard about the swine flu last week through a website that sends out clinical laboratory email.
I dont think this is going to be any thing like SARS....
I remeber when I was a kid about 12 or so getting a swine flu shot when there was threat of an epidemic. It might have been 1976
Google has a map tracking the reported case. Expand the map out to see the world not just north America.

mobile home
Friday night I woke up about 3:00am to the sound of pounding hammers. Of course I got up and walked around outside but then went to bed.
This morning I woke up to the telephone ringing. It was my neighbor calling to tell me that the movers were moving the house down the street. I quickly got dressed and head out with the camera and this is what I came across....

I am trying something new this year in the garden. I have put out weed fabric on two of my rows. I staked the fabric down and then went back and cut an opening in the fabric to plan the seedlings. I planted 28 German Johnson tomatoes last night and this evening I will but in the green peppers.
I almost forgot to plant my sunflowers so I bought seeds today and will put those in this evening as well.

Rameses
For nearly 70 years the mascot of the North Carolina football team has been a ram. A UNC cheerleader decided the school needed an animal mascot to serve as a symbol, just like Georgia's bulldog and N.C. State's wolf. Two years earlier the Tar Heels had posted a brilliant 9-1 record. The star of that 1922 team was a bruising fullback named Jack Merritt. Merritt was nicknamed "the battering ram" for the way he plunged into lines. It seemed natural to link a mascot with Merritt's unusual sobriquet. Thus, it was decided to purchase a ram named Rameses the First. The ram was introduced before the game with VMI, who was favored to beat the North Carolina Tar Heels. Late in the game, Carolina's Bunn Hackney was called upon to attempt a field goal. Before taking the field, he stopped to rub Rameses' head for good luck. Seconds later Hackney's 30-yard dropkick sailed between the goalposts, giving the Tar Heels a 3-0 victory.

jardin
Had a great weekend with Jet in ATL. We eat some great food, went to a museum, and looked for garden supplies. I got an early start back to NC so I was able to get some work done in the garden. I planted seeds for beans, carrots, radishes along with the seedlings for squash, eggplant, cauliflower. The next few days are to be cloudy with a chance of rain. The weather should be clearing up Thursday and through the weekend. I hope to get more stuff planted but I have to save some for Jetty. She does not want to be know as just the weed puller.

Wapner
The rain start yesterday afternoon, light and sporadic. As the evening progress it started raining steadily, the rain continued throughout the night with thunderstorms rolling in. At 5:30 am this morning the rain had stopped and according the the weatherman, it is suppose to be sunny today and tomorrow. Maybe rain Sunday evening.
I had hoped to get some plants and seeds in the ground this weekend. Maybe I can on Sunday evening. Jet's parents and brother are due to arrive today. It will be fun entertaining.
All is well here and hope the same for you!

sun
Well the sun is shining bright and I am surrounded by four walls and a door. Maybe later today I can do some planting in the garden. Last night Harold and I walked over to the garden that the farmer as put in to admire their seasoned work. Ruth, the wife of the farmer, taught me a great deal about maintaining and weeding the garden last year. We walked up to the top of the hill were they recently had cleared out a bunch of growth of trees and weeds. There was a building there that neither Harold or myself knew about. It was a building that was used to house new born calf's. The building had been covered in weeds and bush. While Harold looked through a window into the building, I gazed out into the field that would soon have Nicotiana growing there. At the tree line stood two deers just staring at us. I had seen deer tracks in the farmers garden while we were admiring their work. I soon will be dealing with too. I checked the garden earlier that evening but no sign of the deer yet.

crop
I came home this evening and the Farmer had fixed the garden. I planted 32 broccoli plants, 18 heads of lettuce, 50 onions, 4 broccoli sprouts, 2 rosemary and 4 heads of kale. I need to get some cabbage and plant my radish seeds. Jetty and family will be here this weekend (one night)so we will probably plant some stuff on Sunday if weather is permitting.
