Almost every week I am amazed at what the farm life will bring me. For instance, look at the picture below. I came home from work to find a turtle laying an egg right by my house. I gave her the privacy that she deserved and went down to the garden. A few minutes later I see my neighbor out in the yard so I walk over and tell him about the turtle. We head back over to the house and the turtle is missing. Apparently the turtle does beat the rabbit in the race because she was down at the pond when we found her. I placed a marker by the turtle birthing site for safety purposes (I am cutting the yard tomorrow). Hopefully I can document the process. I should probably wiki turtles to found out the incubation period.

I think that I might start painting again
I don't even classify myself as amateur photographer but I do like taking pictures. One of my favorite sites occasionally has articles about photography. There is another post today, so I thought that I would post the link to them.

free shipping is great. Most of my online purchases have been inspired by the free shipping. The picture below is of the new FedEx hub that is being built at Piedmont Triad International Airport.

?lazy?
Wow it has been nearly a week since I posted. Work was grueling last week then I had company for the week. That was pleasant! I received a new phone this week. After seven years of having a Treo, I am now a Blackberry user. It is the CMDA 8330 Curve. There is a learning curve with it. It seems like I have to spin my wheel more the I had to to touch the screen for certain task. Oh well, maybe I try the IPhone 2.0 when it comes out next month.

Joey Harrington
I was in Atlanta this past weekend. While taking in the town we went to a suburb of Atlanta called Virginia Highland. They were having their Summerfest which is an art and music street fair.
I did see one famous person...it was Joey Harrington. My friends spotted him as he was posing for a photograph so I took one also.

So last night I get a call from the CIO about the AC in the server room going out.
It is long story so I will just cut to the fun part. I had to climb up a ladder and out a port hole onto the roof. Charlie went with me. It was like walking on the moon and the photographs look that way also. That is Charlie in the picture.

Moon in a Dewdrop
Enlightenment is like the moon reflected on the water. The moon does not get wet, nor is the water broken. Although its light is wide and great, the moon is reflected even in a puddle an inch wide. The whole moon and the entire sky are reflected in dewdrops on the grasses, or even in one drop of water.
Enlightenment does not divide you, just as the moon does not break the water. You cannot hinder enlightenment, just as a drop of water does not hinder the moon in the sky. The depth of the drop is the height of the moon. Each reflection, however long or short its duration, manifests the vastness of the dewdrop, and realizes the limitlessness of the moonlight in the sky.

The garden has been doing great. I did clean out the weeds some last weekend and some this week. It has been hard with the rain. I did harvest two tomatoes about the size of a tennis ball. I want them before the squirrels got them. The squash is gowing has well has my favorite, the sunflowers. They now stand about 4.5 feet. I still have pictures to post but the camera is in the car, along with a Mantis tiller, and Binh Minh calender.
Be good to yourself so others will like you.

Taking Refuge
To take refuge in the Buddha means acknowledging the seed of enlightenment that is within ourselves, the possibility of freedom. It also means taking refuge in those qualities which the Buddha embodies; qualities like fearlessness, wisdom, love and compassion.
Taking refuge in the Dharma means taking refuge in the law, in the way things are; it is acknowledging our surrender to the truth, allowing the Dharma to unfold within us.
Taking refuge in the Sangha means taking support in the community, in all of us helping one another towards enlightenment and freedom.
