Speed Test

Not bad but the cable modem is like 5 times faster

call 6164

Well i cam home this evening to find out that we had another storm. This time I took some type of power that killed my cable modem and vonage modem. Leaving with no home phone or wwww. So how I am blogging you might ask. No I am not using sms with my Treo but a mobile data card attached to a mobile broadband router. We tried to use these at work to get client sites up. It does work but does not provide the bandwidth for our application at work but it makes a great Disaster Recovery backup for outages or hardware failure at home. My workstation is attached and I can also use one of the laptops. Anyway enough of my geekiness...

I need to call Jet City Woman (can you name the band?)

100

This the one hundredth post for me on the website. My hands are dirty from working in the garden the past two hours. Harold helped me weed tonight and also point out what I had growing versus what was actually weeds. We fould some more watermelons and eggplants. Charlie let me borrow a Mantis Cultivator to plow under the weeds and also reshape some rows to plant some more stuff. I think that I will want to plant more once my GA immigrant arrives. We can look for stuff at the nursery. I need to grow some Asian vegetables and herbs so I can practicing cooking Japanese cuisine. I do have a Asian cookbook that I would pull recipes out of in my former culinary profession.

Tomorrow night there is a MMA fight in Winston Salem. I think I may go to it if some of my friends are available. UFC's, Sean "THE MUSCLE SHARK" Sherk will be there that should be cool.

otamot

I went away for a few days to return to a much greener and fuller garden.
I made a few phone calls to family and friends before I left to tell them to help themselves to whatever was ready. With all the rain and sun, I have turn out to be a master gardener. My most prized possession in the garden are the sunflower plants. They are really doing well. I have one ripe tomato and few green ones also the squash and peppers are appearing as well. The garden was pretty weedy when I took the pictures but after photographing the garden I spent two hours pulling weeds and cleaning up some. Of course it rained today so hopefully I can continue tomorrow. I cant afford the Mexican Nationals so I hope that I will have a Georgian immigrant here soon to help for a few days.

It is amazing what a little nurturing and care will do. I am speaking of myself now. After I what I went through last year, there were just bleak times filled with distrust and sorrow. It is funny when you are not looking for the pot of gold how the rainbow will just appear and the Leprechaun shows you the way. I did recently find my first four leaf clover but that was after Leprechaun. Sometimes the rainbow can be a Interstate. Love Songs have meaning (STP pun). Things grow..like a To Do List. Enjoy the show folks the book will be publish soon.

treehouse

Typically I look at my garden when I leave and arrive at home. This morning all the plants were patiently waiting for the sun to spurt their growth yet when I arrived this evening, it appeared has though someone or thing had been rolling around in my garden.

I thought that it was strange scenario.

I parked the car and was walking to the front door of the house when I noticed sticks and branches laying about. Then as I was unlocking the door something caught my eye down by the pond. The top half of the lone tree was laying in the yard. I quickly changed clothes and grabbed the camera. I had intended on cutting the yard this evening before it rained....but it had already rain and stormed heavily. I took the pictures that are in the slide show then walked over to my neighbors house. They told be around 3:00pm the sky grew very dark then it ferociously rained along with thunder and lightning. So I spent two hours this evening picking up the debris. Harold brought over his chainsaw and we cut the tree up. Yes the tree had three birds nest in it. I did look for any baby birds but did not find any.

Instead of a tornado, this time it looks as though we had a down force wind storm. Everything was blown in one direction. I guess I will cut the lawn tomorrow.

lunchables

In order not to get so stressed here at work, I like to find things on the net. About two years ago I became a brown bagger....not like that. I began taking my lunch to work in order to save money and eat healthier. I came across this site today lunchinabox.net There are some great ideas located on the site.

roadshow

The a plot for the show has been developed and a leading part has been casted but more on that later.

While away this weekend it must have rained, very sunny or both. The garden along with the yard grew quite a bit. I have broccoli everywhere. I actually saw a women wearing what I thought to be a broccoli ring this weekend at Little Five Points. We were on the way to the Yacht Club. My first mate on the ship wanted to meet the crew. Nice bunch...speaking of such. I harvested about 6 bunches of radishes, broccoli and green leaf lettuce tonight. Everything practically grew a foot over the weekend.

I walked down to the pond this evening and saw the baby muskrat. I ran up to the house and got the camera...enjoy

today

Today is a special day. After this post I will be posting from my Treo through the weekend so they will be short and sweet. Like a Jetty. There is so so much that I want to say and I will soon. Sometimes what seems to be a bad situation or event can be a blessing in disguise.

2008 is a great year. It is our year to share has one.

tonight

Tonight is the season finale of "The Office" and the beginning of a new season for me. Only this season will not end nor will it have reruns. The cast is awarded winning. The plot will never bore you or me. It will be commercial free and a new episode everyday. This show will take you to new or even familiar places. There will be guest appearances by famous or yet to be discovered talent. Some episodes will be like a musical , others romantic and always funny. The one genre not included in the show is drama. It might get suspenseful but no drama. If you care to be a member of the cast either a leading role or supporting cast member just leave a comment. Please excuse me now, I have to prepare for the show.

hats

In the Eighties there were lots of one hit wonders in the pop rock world . I believe that MTV was to blame with the video music revolution. This morning I arrive to work and my co-worker Will is signing "Safety Dance" by Men Without Hats. So we are talking about the song and I decide to google the words.

Men Without Hats Safety Dance Lyrics

Ah we can dance if we want to, we can leave your friends behind
Cause your friends don't dance and if they don't dance
Well they're no friends of mine
I say, we can go where we want to, A place where they will never find
And we can act like we come from out of this world
Leave the real one far behind,
and we can dance or sing

Ah we can go when we want to the night is young and so am I
And we can dress real neat from our hats to our feet
and surprise 'em with the victory cry

I Say we can act if want to if we don't nobody will
And you can act real rude and totally removed
And i can act like an imbecile
I say we can dance, we can dance everything out control
We can dance, we can dance we're doing it in multiple
We can dance, we can dance everybody look at your hands
We can dance, we can dance everybody takin' the chance
Safety dance
Oh well the safety dance
Ah yes the safety dance

We can dance if we want to, we've got all your life and mine
As long as we abuse it, never gonna lose it
Everything'll work out right
I say, we can dance if we want to we can leave your friends behind
Cause your friends don't dance and if they don't dance
Well they're are no friends of mine
I say we can dance, we can dance everything out of control
We can dance, we can dance we're doing it wall to wall
We can dance, we can dance everybody look at your hands
We can dance, we can dance everybody's takin' the chance
Oh Well the safety dance
ah yes the safety dance
Oh well the safety dance
Oh well the safety dance
Oh yes the safety dance
Oh the safety dance yeah
Oh it's the safety dance
It's the safety dance
Well it's the safety dance
Oh it's the safety dance
Oh it's the safety dance
Oh it's the safety dance
Oh it's the safety dance

There is a line and the song that has me baffled. Why would "Men Without Hats" sing "we can dress real neat from our hats to our feet
and surprise 'em with the victory cry"

So they do have hats....I digress

change

I really liked this article "How to Change the World" from Mahatma Gandhi. Carter and I went to Miami in 2004 to see the Dali Lama. The theme was "World Peace through Inner Peace" it was a moving experience for me.

In the past week I have had another moving experience that has provided me with inner peace and love.

Even though I have a ton of work going on with three projects this month, I am going to find time to enjoy myself with some music. Aftr not having a working Ipod to play my music in the car and the gym, I am connect again. Since I repaire one of my Ipods I have been digging some tunes which has me looking an the internet for shows.

I am going to Charlotte on Saturday to Hayseed Dixie
I have seen them a few times. They put on a great show! Check them out

Then I am going to Atlanta to see Hatebreed
Check them out also....dont be afraid....it is positive and powerful. They have some streaming music there on the site so either turn the volume down or up.

I feel good, last night I called it warmth. sorta like of walking in sunlight with no place to be.....

be good to yourself and others

crown

I had a busy day today. I woke up early had my coffee and bagel. I have been sleeping with the windows up so I could hear the farm workers at the pond. They bushwhacked all the growth around the pond. It looks nice. There are pictures in the slide show. I went to Southern States Supply and bought 10 tomato tornado's. I stopped and bought fresh strawberries just picked. I then went to the nursery right down the road and bought Mother's day gifts for some mothers I know. That reminds me...when I was in high school there was a band in Greensboro. They were called "The Other Mothers" they would play all the field party's/keg party's. They got around.
Now I have bored you all ...so I went to work and then worked in the garden.

Be sure to tune in tomorrow when I post for you pictures of miniature cows and chinchillas.
